METARISIN

METARISIN is a liquid biopesticide of contact and intestinal type of action based on an entomopathogenic Metarhizium anisopliae fungus which was discovered to have useful properties by I. Mechnikov.

Metarisin is a liquid. A biological pesticide of contact and intestinal action based on the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae, the beneficial properties of which were discovered and studied by I.I. Mechnikov in the late XIX and early XX century. The fungus uses its enzymatic activity to penetrate through the cuticle of the insect, causing its disease (mycosis), so that the pest stops feeding and dies.

The main use of the drug is to combat locusts and wireworms.
